Franc, I really enjoyed getting together with you, Andrea, Peter and Gail at the Annapolis Show. You mentioned that you had a package of the toe rail plugs. One out of 8 other B owners in my marine have them but his does not have the o-rings and thus leak some water resulting in streaks down the side. .

Hi Boyd,

Welcome! Franc and I have the 43. If we didn't need to trade in our boat I was very tempted to go with the used 44CC. I love the room in the main cabin and the head. My father-in-law had the 36CC and loved it. The galley set up also made it easy for cooking underway. How do you like your boat?

Hi, I am new to SeaKnots & Beneteau Corner. Love sailing the Chesapeake. We have only been on the Chesapeake for about a year. My husband, Bobby and I sail out of Deltaville, VA.

Hello @ all
I am new in this comunity. My name is Alain, 36, and I am from Luxembourg/Europe
@ first: Sorry for my bad English ... i have to train it
I am planing to buy an new Beneteau Ocanis 43 - 2 cabins in the beginning of 2009 ( for the Season in the Adriatic Sea ).

Does any one have concrete experience with this boat?
Somewhere i saw that when you are tying to go backyard, you have a strange feeling on the rudder and the transmission Chain breaks easily.

Do you have the same experiences?

Here in Europe you can buy the boat with some extra packages like electronic, comfort, luxe and and and package etc. In one of them there is 1 electrical Winch. Is this powerful enough to lift someone in the mast ? Is it possible/easy to install an acclimation ?

Questions over questions ....
In that last time i had an Elan 333 which is now sold ...

Just found this group - will be interesting to read what others are doing. We're in our second season with a 423 located in Hampton, VA (lower Ches. Bay).

FYI - If you're not aware, there's a fantastic 423 forum with lots of maintenance comments, etc. Go to beneteau423@yahoogroups.com to sign up.

Thanks Jeremy. We're thinking about taking our 423 to Bermuda next year, but keep reading some not-so-pleasant stories - just looking for some comfort. :) But, I guess it wouldn't be as exciting or interesting to read/hear about the un-eventful trips.

We plan to track a 423 that's doing the Bermuda race this year - hopefully everything will go well.

I am a crewmember on a Beneteau 57 "Splendido" and we have sailed well over 8,000 offshore miles with it. We have sailed from NYC to the Caribbean and back twice and have never had any major problems with the hull, or really anything Beneteau can be blamed for.
Everybody who comes on board loves the boat, and boy is she fast!

I'd like to hear what's the further distance you've traveled off-shore with your Benes and what were some of the challenges.

We are in the NY Harbor - East River, Hudson River and traveling to the neighboring areas.

We are going down for the test sails on Can Drac this weekend, cant wait! ;-)
