Ah, so that is what those extra pieces are that I found on my boat! If I understand correctly, these are the square "fuse / breakers blocks" that sit on the battery terminal post. I do not have them installed. I thought perhaps you were describing a…

Sam, I don't have a part number but the dealer should be able to get one for you. Actually my service manager told me there should have been one in the spares kit and gave me one for free since there was not. It's white and about 3/4 inch square wit…

Mike, can you provide information on the breaker? I will pick one up and keep as a spare since this seems to be a problem that may pop up based on at least a couple of folks experience. Thanks Sam B43, Hull #9

Clayton, thanks you've unlocked the mystery of the Quick windlass. We too had a problem with the breaker/fuse that sits in the house battery. I tried dropping anchor via the windlass without any luck so used good old fashion manpower. I corrected th…

Here's a picture of the release/engage lever and the hole where the bolt was blocking it from engaging. Hope this helps.

GREAT TIP, Clayton! Wish I'd known when I had the same exact problem (bad breaker) and HAD TO HOIST ANCHOR (all chain) BY HAND!!!! Do you have a picture of that bolt that needs to be removed?

I learned a good lesson a few days ago when our electric windless (Quick Drum type) stopped working as we were trying to weigh anchor. Turns out the breaker near the battery bank had gone bad. We were left needing up manually pull up the anchor and…

Sam, Sorry, I forgot to reply. I'm not having the same problem. My arm seems straight and vertical and doesn't drag. I haven't really pushed the winch except for one time when I operated it when I forgot to release one of the opposing cleats. Under…

I've had a similar concern and have two small hairline cracks in my gelcoat possibly from flexing of the stern rail. The motor mount that Beneteau supplies seems insufficient and placed to near the stern gate. I decided to remedy the problem by supp…

Sam, I have one of these as well on my 40 and use it, like you to furl/unfurl the main. Is "stripper arm" the same as the "stripper ring?" In any event, I'll be on my boat tomorrow and will take close look. But, I've not noticed any symptoms of mal…

It's possible that there was a series of mast where they failed to install the guard. Things like that happen and nobody takes notice until someone like yourself has an issue. I would think they'll take care of you. Good luck.

Thanks Mike. Yeah, they are in the process of seeing what they can do (they are talking with Neil Pryde and SPAR - credit assignment problem?), but in the meantime I'm trying to see if this is normal or not given that there is another B40 in my mari…

We have a 43 and there's a plastic guard over the edges on both sides of the opening. We definately have not had any issues with sail chafe. Have you spoken to your dealer about it?

Got a brand new Bene 40 this summer with the standard in mast furling mainsail. After our first extended trip, we have 2 places where the sail cloth is worn thru and one 2 inch tear both at the foot of the sail at our reef points in the vertical dir…

The parts quote was approx $930. That plus some shipping and some extra hardware (mounting screws, blocks etc.).
