The story of our Atlantic crossing

After our first long offshore passage (Tortola to Bermuda) we finally faced the crossing of the Atlantic ocean on the morning of May 20. Coincidentally, Aunt Carol, Uncle Joe and not-so-little Joey were visiting Bermuda on a cruise ship and thanks to Bermudian (and Sailforwater.com sponso… Continue

First leg of the rally, Tortola to Bermuda

We never intended to race. But as we set off on the first leg of the ARC Europe rally, we could not resist the challenge of a good start. Over two dozen boats eager to cross a short line between a committee boat and an orange buoy at the sound of a horn was sure to be exciting!

So we c… Continue

Last days in the Virgins

What do you do if you only have a week left in Paradise? You call your family and have one last party in the Sun! So that’s what we did with our last few days in the Virgin Islands. We had George and MaryAnn (Andrea’s parents) on board for a week and went back to our favorite spots,… Continue

Sisters in Paradise

Ladies and gentlemen, please, welcome Sharyn, this week’s blog star and our guest for the past few days. Sharyn is Andrea’s sister and as you’ll see below she is an expert sailor, a brave swimmer and she sure knows how to party!

We spent Sharyn’s first night by Cooper Island, where we… Continue

Yall made that seem like a short n easy trip, despite catchin zero fish. Was fun hearin from yall along th way, thanks for makin me feel aboard.
Now, dont hurry home on the chat rooms account. Enjoy a few months while yer there. And when ye ready-about, dont forget to round the island twice, since ye touched it! And save a glass of that special water yall are brewin, or bartered for (fuel, right! LOL.!)

Carry on gang!

Coo-eee Cobbers, I am not sure where we will head this year, but it looks like Westward. How far depends..., maybe out of the Med??? I have been checking your position on Pangolin. With luck our paths may cross near the end of the year. Anyway have a great crossing, have FUN and Take Care.

I ended up on the North Pier slip #35 which isn't bad for my first year there. You should stop on by anytime after Memorial Day.

It's funny you should ask. It's will be any week now before the big day. I was hopefully yesterday that spring was in the air with temps in the mid 60's. Today, however, was a different tune with a laspe back into winter with snow on the ground. Although at these point of your trip you may have forgotten the anxiety that comes with the end of winter since you managed to avoid it this year. Hope you are doing well and wish you the best!

We all know the cliche, it's not the place it is the people. So, it is that my plans to make Sandy Hook were changed when I learned (a) that my #1 sister, Jane and my #1 Sea Knots friend, Suki would meet me at Chesapeake City, (b) that my boss was...
