dago for the moment..and anywhere i may be cruising....my formosa says santa barbara LOL

mature female with 41 foot wish it were cruising ketch.....restoring and pending cruising her..trying to sell my ericson 35mII....now the formosa is mine all mine..she has awesome lines and interior and is equipped for sailing just not restored for that yet. will not take tooo much other than a foredeck and electrix.and mizzen work and,,,,and....and.....
i do run away from home periodically for sailing and cruising time....until my formosa is cruise ready....lol

warmspott, trollville---dago bay--and anywhere i may be cruising...lol

Destinations visited:

catalina--avalon, isthmus, cat harbor; ensenada;lost angeles;oceranside, dago......usvi .... some bvi....baja--east and west coasts and some baja sur.....guerrero negro and other towns....bahia asuncion, bahia tortuga, gonzaga bay, san felipe....great harbour, peter island, jost van dyke, norman island pirates bight and the caves. road town, water island, cruse bay, scotts cove,christmas cove, caneel bay, st thomas yacht club, redhook, culebra, flamenco beach, san juan.......deadmans bay, spratt bay, cane garden bay,brewer's bay......up and down hudson river......
gulf of mexico--lousianna to fla....back to louisianna....pending further sailing.....port st joe, tampa bay, manatee river, appalachacola, dry tortugas, pensacola.....barrier islands in between mississippi sound and gulf of mexico, biloxi....marco island , fort myers........

Looking to:

sail into sunset.or sunrise~~~LOL...hopefully with a male partner/mate.....soon to sail caribean..again---but on my own terms..........

south pacific..maybe--not certain---see what the sea gods have in mind for me~~~~~

sail other peoples' boats until my own is pirate ship ready and the ericson sold.........visit friends in mazatlan .......sail a gaff rigged schooner..in the carib....."work" with a friend(sailing isnt work) ....continue to adventure......
OR......just sail til i drop ..lol......

if you have read all this stuff and want to crew-i am accepting interviews with folks who wish to assist in the repair of the formosa in exchange for cruising berth---read my listing in latitude 38 crew list....there is WORK involved......is not an easy berth---learning experience as well as fun!!.

mahogany the sneaky wood

beautiful but not for structural or hull parts on boats ....i have watched so many beautiful chris crafts and other honduran and "true" mahogany boats sink because this lovely hard wood dislikes to be in air, fresh water or salt water-----does a lovely rot from inside out trick....this particular sample of samson post was broken from a downeaster 32 in my mooring field--broke under sustained 30 kt winds with higher gusts with 4 foot fetch......

myn boat.....pix and words....

these pictures reflect solitary bird as she was purchased by the previous owner...in 2004. same year i bought my ericson but a few mos later into the year--ericson was june, formosa oct.....she was brought from santa barbara to san diego at once and placed on mooring in coronado, right next door to my ericson, on which i resided at the time-- he would say hi to me as i rescued bird when she broke loose from moorings once long ago----helped him thru some times and he reciprocated--now i own his b… Continue

At least now my boat is home on my trailer so i can work on it more.until spring i will have to "barrow" my friends boat when hes not looking. I love to call him to tell him im out on it though. I like his boat its a Columbia 26. not as fast as my SJ24 but its sailing. I have to go i have not missed a month in four years and i usually go out every weekend. so having my boat out of the water is very hard but im doing a lot of work that would have taken me so long to do otherwise. i just built the trailor in october and drove her home what an adventure that was.
