bolivar peninsula's crystal beach is affected now---so is ponchartrain to a degree now the oil has been found inside rigolets.....sad sad sad.....too many are affected by this--is 1/3 the continental usa coastline--is very very sad......too many lives depend on that ecosystem remaining intact---will be a looong time before the place will return to some semblance of normalcy--there is waaay too much crude flowing unchecked for the return in our lifetimes--tooo sad.....beyond tragic...
is anyone else here tired of the storms and fronts?? i will be glad to get back to perfect weather ..lol.....only time sin diego weather is not perfect is in winter--lol---then the storms present with 50-70kt winds--and coldness--i think is time to get back for a minuet --then onward in formosa to southern ports wherein no english is spoken.......
fort myers has a mooring field run by the matanzas inn--is cool --there is a dinghy dock free--no overnite ----there are shower facilities no charge and laundry room...a reallllly goooood restaurant associated with the inn is awesome--one of best pizzas i have had since 1969 when i left NY for the last time..lol....serious goood pizza...no other state has pizza like noo jawrk pizzas...killa!!!!
Congrats on the trip, Gene ! That is an interesting run down the ICW.. Morgan City with all the river current and traffic is a challenge.. Locking through into the Mississippi at New Orleans is a thrill with all the traffic.. but the view of the French Quarter is great as ya go by ! The Miss Sound and the islands are fine places to sail ! Gonna Be Fun !

PANACHE has a new home, Ocean Springs small Craft Harbor. Departed Port Arthur Monday, 29 Mar. by way of ICW. Ellender Bridge towed to Omstead Marina, Lake Charles. Crossover to exhaust elbow fracture and water in pistons. Had parts. Repaired Friday and changed oil again Saturday. Depart Omstead Marina Monday, 5th April. 59hr run to Houma; 29 hr layday, Houma Twin Bridge City Marina,30hr run to Ocean Springs Small Craft Harbor. Currently back in Port Arthur to empty a storage shed and pick up my truck. Should be back in MS by Wednesday.
we are in good holding in manatee river again--anna maria island was like anchoring in a swimming pool----so we will go to ft myers then isla from there---mebbe..lol.....front is blustery and wet---otherwise not so bad...
wondered how yall wuz doing.. I saw a couple of posts from you and Phil, but didn't know where ya was.. This front brought us some nice weather again. I guess you are feeling it right about now with the rains leading in. Keep posting so we'll know where ya be !
