I have been sailing for over 40 yrs. and have worked in the marine/boating industry for almost as long. In between cruises I am fitting out/upgrading my Princess Ketch for more offshore work & exploring southern latitudes.
Destinations visited:
The Eastcoast, Med., Caribbean and Gulfcoast
Looking to:
Go offshore, heading south til the butter melts and meander around southern latitudes.........
Will be moving down to Safety Harbour (Tampa Bay) next year. Plan to retire and do some cruising following the sun. Have family in Safety Harbor and looking forward to my plans taking shape.
Thanks so much for the welcome mat! Hope to meet you "where the butter melts" in the future! We're just learning to sail, and can't wait till we can sail to Florida from Louisiana. Next year at the latest! Love your pictures!
Like your comment about going south til the butter melts ...read a similar one about a man giving up the sea ..he said he would put an oar over his shoulder and walk inland and wouldnt stop until someone asked him what he was carrying!
Hey Gang, I've been spending quite a bit of time taking the old varnish off of my boom and interior cabin. Being based in Alaska, we have big temp swings (-10 to 75 F), and I'm debating just teaking all the wood and holding back on varnishing it. The thought would be that I would just have to apply more teak oil to it every time I went out, but I wouldn't have to deal with the varnish peeling so bad again like it's doing now. Maybe this is just part of the regular upkeep on any boat…See More

Greetings from the southern coast of Maine. Will be heading down the coast in September for warmer climates. No snow this Christmas! :-)
