Perhaps I am confused, but my understanding is that the state of FL had 'put its foot down' to stop local bodies from unduly restricting anchoring, citing the precedence of state law over local ordinances. Isn't that a good thing? That is how I interpreted the drift of the various threads on the SSCA discussion boards, but perhaps I misunderestimated.

i made my popcorn when cali boaters found there is no place for anchoring anywhere--is also happening in virgins-------lets watch LOL.....what sold boaters out was the greed involved with more moneyitis.....and looking down noses at anchorers.....presuming there is no income from them ...LOL

I have been attending the SSCA breakfasts in Burnt Store (Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda) chapter when I am in town. I tried to attend in Ft Myers, but no one else showed up at the Perkins I went to. If anyone knows where that chapter meets I'll be happy to try again.

Don't forget to come play with us at the Miami Strictly Sail and International Boat Show starting this Thursday through Monday, Feb. 16. The booth will be in the Lats & Atts Tent once again. Coming Saturday, stay for the Cruisers Party hosted by L&A.
Stop by and say hello to your Cruising Editor at the Blue Water Sailing booth (# 204)!

"Auto ascending setup is an interesting idea, though it takes a bit of fiddling around to get it right. Once it's dialed in, it actually works quite well."
