Homeport:
Full time cruisers
About Me:
We are a family that live aboard our 56ft Bruce Roberts, we work out of the boat, installing renewable energy systems on sail boats throughout the NE and Bahamas. We are from Hawaii and New Zealand and are very lucky to have seen and sailed some of the most beautiful places in the world. We love the sailing life of meeting interesting people in different locations and learning the secret to life is that no matter anything else, a beautiful sunset and cocktail in hand will always take away the stress of a broken boat part . The best attribute of living aboard is teaching our children to be citizens of the world and allowing their imaginations to think out side the box/boat.
Current location:
Annapolis heading to Hampton Roads VA
Destinations visited:
On SY Tranquility we have been up and down the East coast of the USA we spend quite a bit of time in CT & NY sailing the Long Island sound and look foward to heading north to RI this summer. We have been to the Abacos in bahamas and loved it. During the winters we base out of West Palm beach south FL, but that is all going to change this winter. because we are finally off on our sailing adventure!
Looking to:
SAIL AROUND THE WORLD!

Thank you for the info. I am leaving from Port Canaveral, FL and figured to enter either at Walkers Caye or the West End (Settlement Point - Old Bahama bay) but looks as if we will wait a bit till the hurricanes give us a break. Thank again and fair winds to you all.

Hello
A word of caution, I have been working with FEMA in Port-au-Prince, and we are turning away people, especially from the harbour, there is too much traffic and the entrances are small.there is not enough water so make sure your watermakers are working, the Haitian Government will not allow you to land unless and this is a biggie, you can prove you have been invited, we are stationed near Miragoane close to the worst damage. The emphasis is currently on getting the haitians to help them selves and we have seen a lot of people foolhardy enough to try to help yet they end up by getting in the way and eventually asked to leave. the situation was exsascerbated by the 'missionaries so unless you have a defined contact please do not try to land, I would suggest going to either cap Haitien or Port de paix'. Be perpared the situation is horrible and I hope to heck you have a very very strong tomach. I am in Hampton this week then going to Michigan to our prefab factory then back down so if you are on your way down the bay call me at 757-504-5509 and I will give you the scoop. also the Americans will not let yopu land unless you have your T.A.B.T shots up to date (forgot about that oops).

Thanks for the offer to put us in touch with your relatives in NZ. That would be great. Sorry we missed you in Annapolis. We only arrived for the last day or two of the boat show and were anchored in Back Creek. Our internet access has been limited lately so we may not always reply promptly. Glad to hear you made it safely to the Keys. Kim

Leighia and Cameron,
Nice to hear from you. We arrived in St. Augustine yesterday and were hauled out at St. Augustine Marine to do about 10 days worth of projects on the boat and then we will con't south. We plan to go to the Exumas and then head straight to Panama. Not sure when we will leave the States. Kim
