Hoping to connect with some of you who have boats in the Clear Lake, Galveston Bay and Texas coastal area. Galveston Bay has some of the most advantageous sailing around. Sailing/cruising options - east into Trinity Bay, north to HYC and Bayland, south to Redfish, East Bay and Galveston are among the highlights, as well as, navigating the HSC with the Big Ships.

Finally! Rainbow's End is wet in the right way! We splashed her Tuesday, Nov. 25.

She is either pouting or her starter may have gotten wet; she wont turn over (typical female), but that wont be a big problem. Hopefully I will have her at the Boardwalk Marina in a week.

Fox came out and did a piece on us, and goofed that up. The total that Baytown charged us for stealing our boats was $253.00 per foot, not the figure Hibbert stated. The cost for a 32' boat was $8094.00! Thanks to Progressive Insurance it only cost me $375.00.

Check it out

Jim

The Double Handed Regatta is Dec. 6 at HYC. Open to one-design and cruising boats, this regatta features two-man crews. There is no deadline for entering; but PHRF boat owners are asked to contact Jack Yoes at (713) 530-9315 or the HYC office at (281) 471-1255 prior to the competitor's briefing at 11 a.m. on Dec. 6 to be assigned to a class. Entry fee is $20 per boat. First signal will be at noon. After the races, free bratwurst and beverage will be served to the competitors at the Beachcomber. Meals for additional persons will be available for $5 per person. Presentation of trophies will follow.

2 sailing stories by a Texas aurthor (J. Howard Williams experienced a variety of jobs in his lifetime, from a CPA to a marina manager to a boat salesman. But through it all, his heart has belonged to sailing.)

BLUE LADY: events that could have occurred on any one of the thousand or more sailboats that have raced from Galveston to Veracruz.

Tim posted on his blog 'ASA 104' ... he's just back from class with our Captain John and seemed to really enjoy it! Sounded like an exciting sail.

Simple task turned into a Sunday 'sail' outing. Only in our boating community would a trip to the pump-out station become a fun afternoon outing. Any chance to be on the water :) ... even though we only motored, it was still enjoyable ... & found that it indeed takes 5 to dock, hold a hose, push a lever, supervise, and tip the boat ... ha! Had a good backing out of slip w/ new maneuver exercise .... always learning ;) Thanks friends!

I get TMCA emails .... one of them commented on several spots around the bay, but I don't remember seeing anything on Wussey Bay. Have to wonder with all the damage to HYC and Shore Acres.

Is there anyone out there monitoring this site who might know the condition of the anchorage just north of HYC, aka "Wussey Bay" ? Is it full of IKE debris?

Why are hubcaps less common on modern vehicles?

Hubcaps, which are attached directly to the wheel and rim assembly, are less frequently seen on modern vehicles. This shift is largely due to the adoption of wheels made from aluminum or metal alloys, which are less vulnerable to damage from salt, road chemicals, and harsh winter conditions compared to the previously common steel wheels.WheelCovers.Com prioritizes customer support and security to provide a seamless shopping experience.
