Bad things happen to good people in all walks of life. We should not be judgemental but offer help and good fortune to all. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow is not here. Lets do the best we can today.
Good luck Zeehag and hope the rest of your trip is safe and comfortable

iam not on boat going to jost..i am awaiting going by ferry to redhook st thomas to wait in the airport and i am watching as davit types his messages on another forum. leah was airlifted off the mans boat under questionable circumstances by her own choice. the warnings werw of a pwersonal nature and made in hot thoughts--i donot listen to hotheads in personal matters of questionable nature. i spoke with the man for a long long time and for many hours before i set outon this trip and i felt the comments made to me were selfish and one sided....not conducive to open minded thought and decision making. when one is within us waters the consulate is non existent. when one is in another country the rescue is chargewd to the captain--i didnt believe he is offensive at this time, sorry for my opinipon, but i feel it is a just decision and made not under hotheadedness but under clearer thought than i have been able to do for a pair of days. i found out about the termination of this trip opnly 2 days ago and i acted accordingly--now i am so confuzed by the resulting wave effect i only want to get to my own boats and cat and friends----so i will go...the cpt isnot going to return to wherefrom i can easily return to home--i will await my departure in the airport in st thomas.

One of the most important things that everyone needs to take with them when crewing......the funds to get yourself home if things dont work out! Many times we are flying long distances to meet a stranger that we have only talked to a few times. Be prepared to jump ship and get yourself home if 'stuff' happens. Its like going on a multiday blind date without the romance. You just dont know until you get there whether its going to be a good match. Be sure you discuss the details BEFORE you leave.

Good luck with your trip home. Hope the holidays were decent for you considering the what you have just experienced. We are in NJ and the boat is up on dry land but I have 2 sisters in FLA if needed.

it seems i have more friends than i knew about and i should be home in dago by 1/6/2009....earlier than the plans were spozed to be--by 2 weeks! dangit, but wow...so i will again be seeking to sail --probably in the cortez sea for a while--i know that area some and am able to get to friends and home readily if necessary! sailing is in the genes and must be acknowledged--also is sooo much fun and a religious experience.....thankyou and see you soon, all....kd

zeehag ..... I was so saddened to read of your situation. Not nice to be dumped by a boat owner for whatever reason ......unfortunately as I'm up in Canada at the moment, can't do much to help you out. Please let us know how things work out for you.......Dianne

Ahoy! I am interested in crewing. My job is such that I can take time off if needed.
