Just joined your group, I look forward to learning from and sharing with you all.
I have a 30 ft Cape Dory that has been neglected by previous owner, so lots of projects. My next project is a new holding tank... What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.
Erika

PS to all: Happy Memorial Day, to the military and their families THANK YOU and GOD BLESS.

Hello read about Jessica..youngest solo around the world...a true inspiration
Taken from the article:

Jessica did very well and I felt very confident in her abilities on watch. She is a very mature young woman who is taking the challange very seriously and preparing herself well. With the right boat, good support and some more time in the gym I think she will safely accomplish the trip. So if Jessica were my daughter I would let her go and be very proud of her :) Follow her story here http://www.youngestround.blogspot.com/ or to view her involvement with the environmental group OceansWatch look at http://www.sailblogs.com/member/oceanswatch

Yes, I agree Suky.. I have Reverse osmosis in my house , but now am discovering the plastic tanks they use may not be the best.

I realize while in a life boat a water maker is great...I wonder if similar can be used in the home. This is an interesting topic.

I use to use a pressure cooker when I first got married, and I plan to revisit it. I have followed the discussions on Chefs at Sea..They all seem to swear by them.

Good morning Women of the Sea. I am in transition. I realize now that most likely it will be a year or more before I will be living on board my own cruising boat. I'm open to it happening sooner but that's what it's looking like. Meanwhile, I am sailing as many different boats as I can and sailing my daysailer.
From my blog on caning and chefs at sea, I'm getting a much better picture of how to prepare the galley for living aboard and long cruises. I'm getting more experience with my pressure cooker and I'm sure I want a watermaker. I believe that water is going to become as precious a resource as fuel. It already is in most of the world but in our privledged world it will become more so.

I have to agree with sailgirlca.. There is 70 members on this forum and no one speaks here. WHY? It is not just this discussion board but other female boards as well. I am a little disappointed to tell the truth.

Hello Ladies...for some reason I am still wrestling with myself if this is a forum for me. Yes, I am a female boat owner & solo sailor for the past 28 yrs, not sure of what I was expecting from a single womens group but haven't been able to find it here. I have found it to much more comfortable matching sailing experiences with the men on other forums......I really did learn more there. Help me ladies....don't want to leave you but also need more incentive than I have seen thus far here......sorry but those are the facts....DJ
