Anyone interested in a round trip from Port Canaveral to Sandy Hook to Greenport Long Island to Bermuda then back to Florida?

This will be a shake down cruise aboard SPRAY, my 35 foot cruising tri. She has minimal accomodations but 3 or us had a pleasant 1300 mile cruise from Guatemala where she was purchased to her home port in Palm Bay Florida this past summer. She has been surveyed and has had several boat builders, captains, trans-oceanic cruisers and designers provide expertise. So far everyone compliments her design and construction.

I had a hired captain for the cruise from Guatemala to Florida and his son on that trip. This upcoming adventure will be my first as captain of my own boat and I'm determined to make it alone if compatable crew are not available. Certainly doing one or more of the legs would be reasonable.

Even if you don't make the trip any suggestions are welcome. Thanks,  the sassyonesailingatsixty

When is the proposed trip? Would certainly be interested in hearing more details but am heading to California for 3 weeks in January. Are you on Skype? From Feistysailingatfifty!!

I'd be interested in doing some of the trip depending on when you were thinking of traveling.  I've done a couple of blue water trips from CT and RI down to the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay.  Actually had some part of my butt kicked on both trips off the Jersey coast.

Let me know your plans.

"Auto ascending setup is an interesting idea, though it takes a bit of fiddling around to get it right. Once it's dialed in, it actually works quite well."

"Michael, From experience over three keel boats a fully battened main is almost a requirement. Not only will it make dropping the sail into the boom bag far easier it certainly reduces any flogging and vastly lengthens the life of the sail. While…"
