Hi Terri. . Thanks for the site on women sailors. I looked at it and said Oh ummm. It's OK. A good start. Mostly for new woman sailors who are at the beginning stages of sailing. It does have huge potential. Just my humble opinion.

Hi Christine,
This is so cool. Trust me, when I left the shelter of Lil' Harbor, I usually kept the main reefed and sometimes unfurled the jib, so when solo cruising I'm not so ambitious as when I race. Let's talk more about he buddy boat idea. That's been my wish. I still have lots to learn. I'll write more this week. Off to race this afternoon. Very cool, Marlene

Hey Marlene,

Good to hear from you. I've been thinking about going the same way this summer. I have to be in NYC June 30 - July 11 and I've been considering taking the boat up and then leaving her in the Chesapeake for the winter so I can return next year and make the trip back. I'd suggest we buddy boat for the offshore passages (take turns sleeping), but my boat can't keep up with yours under sail!!

Just joined this group; met Christine Kling in Lil' Harbor, Abaco this past summer and am finally planning this summer's cruise. With a dream sail from Port Canaveral to NY Harbor from May - July - perhaps I can hole up a few days in Myrtle Beach?
Also, am searching for an ICW guidebook that travels south to north; I found several that go north to south, but why re-write a book that may already exist.
Glad to have joined this group!

hi to all of you and i couldn't wait to add a comment--i have been in florida for 3 uneventful days until tonight! stuart [from this site] invited my son and i to his sailing club to eat. i was talking to a guy there and in our conversation he mentioned donna lange-she is truley one of my heroes. i read the book 'by the grace of the sea' and loved it so much. it was about pat henry who sailed around the world alone and through that i heard of donna lange and did a search and found her web site where i had read all about her. then she showed up tonight at the club and i got to meet her. if any of you know her or heard of her you know what a pleasure it was for me to meet her. if you haven't heard of her check out her web site donnalange.com and you will know how thrilled i was to meet her. anyway that is by far the most exciting news so far of my trip sailing with my son. we will hopefully be heading for bahamas on mon or tues.
