Any local knowledge for sailing in and around KW, the keys in general for that matter?  Barb and I just bought a West Wight Potter 15 that opens up cruising areas that we can't get to with our bigger boat.  Mostly I'm looking for ramps so we launch, sail all day, and return.  The Potter is a great little boat but not so much for over night.

Does anyone know of any good bareboat charter companies in Key West?

Just spent two weeks in Key West and will be returning again on Jan 15 for another two weeks.  Love the weather and the friendly people.  Mallory Square is a kick in the evening with all the street performers.  Key lime martinis are the best at 10 o'clock in the morning at the Island Dog Bar on Front street.  Fort Zachory has a great beach and picnic tables in the palm trees.     My girl friend caught a huge jewfish in a canal.  Took 20 minutes to land the was released since they are a protected spieces.

I think we will be berthing in the Sigbee Island (Navy) RV park this year for the Fantasy Fest and for a bit (maybe a few weeks) after that. I know I'm going to wish I had my little (21') sloop but no such luck this year. Going to have to pull the RV trailer down.

Great, Hope she is still there during the Fantasy Fest this year. I'd like to get a look at her.

For those planning on hitting the FF this year, or any year, here is a Yahoo group dedicated just to the 'Fest.

Capt John, When the wx is fair those are really easy waters in which to sail as long as you have a swing keel or pay good attention to the charted depth and your location. Wonderfull sailing.
