Update 12/18/10
I just talked to Gary Kerr on Seaknots chat, and he's ok after a rough ride to Bermuda..
He's a bit physically shaken but is restoring to good health..
The gooseneck on the boom blew out from severe winds.. That's why he was heading in the wrong direction for a couple of days until he could put it back together and set course back to Bermuda. Oh, he was pinging his spot locator so much during that time for his short wave…

December 11, 2010.
So when was the last time you saw someone perform an incredibly romantic act and you inadvertently crushed the moment? Let me start from the beginning….
There’s at least 40 cruising boats in the immediate area waiting for this forecast cold front to pass through. The weather is once again warm so why not have a little fun while we’re waiting.
Monument Island is a couple of hundred yards away so a cocktail hour was planned for this afternoon for…

Tomorrow I meet with my financial advisor. By the end of our meeting I will know what my boat buying budget will be for my solo circumnavigation. While my beer budget will realistically be close to $75,000 at the top end, my champagne taste will yield a Dragonfly 1200. Sometime between now and my 1 pm meeting tomorrow I promise to buy a Florida lotto ticket.
In the meantime, I seriously request suggestions for boats in the 30 foot range. A trimaran is my #1 choice. If I have to…

I am seeking a multihull capable of crossing oceans. Preference is for a tri but will consider a cat: 30 foot range, for under $100,000. Good luck you say, I say all I need is to be in the right place at the right time
Also, suggestions sought for taking a course in celestial navigation. Thanks,

SUVA, Fiji – For more than 50 days, the three boys slurped rainwater that puddled in the bottom of their tiny boat, gobbled flying fish that leaped aboard and prayed for salvation.
Etueni Nasau and his two cousins almost gave up hope they would survive as they bobbed in their aluminum dinghy across the South Pacific for more than seven weeks, before a fishing trawler…

After a wonderful summer sailing to Maine getting as far as Acadia National Park and Sommes Sound, beautiful area, I'm back in Annapolis and find myself crewless. My sailing partner had to get home to help family and now I need help sailing to St Augustine. So if Anyone wants to crew on a beautiful 60' wooden ketch to sunny Florida, here's the opportunity. I'm easy going and experienced and have a well equipped and comfortable boat. I might try to single hand her to Portsmouth, VA, based on…
