Now that the Cuba embargo appears to be lifting, I'm curious if anyone here would boat there. I'd like to see Cuba, but I just don't know. You?

I said no Internet limits me to weeks, not months! :)
Okay, you're good to go then.. :-)
we'll miss you Rob !
I figured we could fly him back on the G550 after a few weeks if no internet..would be a shame if he missed out!
When do we set sail?
not sure, only in the planning stages..seeing if there's much interest!
Would love to go. And if they lift the damn embargo I will.
Why spend US $$ in a still dictator-run country? Is this a cruiser's forum or not - sail somewhere friendly like Isla Mujeres or Costa Rica.
Was hoping to hit them all!
John,
I'm not the least bit political. I don't give a rip about the gummint of a country. The money I would spend is not going to make or break a dictator or a semi dictator, or anyone else. Hell, we are getting closer and closer to a socialist country. Don't like that either. So, if it's legal, and somewhere I would enjoy going, I'm gonna go.
I just hope that if they open their doors to American tourists the drunken "spring break" crowd doesn't ruin it for us. Nothing is worse than a place being spoiled by a bunch of people who can't behave in a foreign port. (Besides, they tend to drive up the price of drinks.)
I'll probably move my boat back to Fla. or down to Texas coast once Cuba is opened back up. You could spend many, many months just sailing around that island going bay to bay, fishing or diving spot, etc. All in our backyard. You betcha!
