Grenada

We arrived in Grenada 2 weeks ago and have been busy tracking down and fixing our gremlins. To date we have ordered our new jib, and finally have the freezer working again. Nutmeg icecream all round! One of the first things we look for on arrival...Grenada is the only place you will find nutmeg icecream, fantastic! We are presently on the lookout for some engine parts, a never ending battle no matter what island you are on. Sad to say Grenada is following suit with many of the other islands…

Peace at last!

The past few weeks have been everything from ho-hum to downright explosive! Ho-hum is pretty self explanatory, explosive would be what happens when the clew tears right off the jib, the foot and leech open wide, and you still have 11 miles to make harbour in a 35knot blow and rather large steep seas! Just another day sailing in the caribbean during hurricane season! The sail got pieced back together, and (so far) has managed to hold together through a few more 30knot squalls. I guess my…

JAMMED MICROWAVE DOOR IN B43

Last night we were cleaning up and the door of the microwave refused to open. The unit is a ENO and to date has worked perfectly.Questions;1. Has this happened to anyone else and initial checks do not indicate anything caught in the door.2. How do you remove the unit from the cabinetry if the jam cannot be released?BilgolabandsSee More

B40 Holding Tank Plumbing

Could someone please verify for me that the only way to pump out the holding tank is through the deck fitting?I do understand that if the Y valve is placed in the overboard position and the through hull is open, any discharge from the toilet via electric flush goes directly overboard (at least I think it will not pass through the holding tank). My concern is the ability to empty the holding tank while at sea should it become full during that transition time to go off shore. Thanks for any info…See More
