Our local yacht club that operates a railway line slipping cradle has been put on notice by a couple of "worryites" that maybe the structure is not fit for purpose. The basis of the claim hinges on…Continue

"Sam On my 43 the VIN is on one of the hull floors (transverse ribs under the floor boards) adjacent to the stove. The are moulded into the gelcoat. Hope this helps. Regards Bilgolabands"

"1) It sounds like the diesel pump is not working. You should hear a ticking sound from the pump when you turn the key for priming. The pump is located forward on the starboard side of the engine. 2) You can try to increase the waterflow. Check the…"

"First the engine cutoff. While I haven’t experienced it the symptoms do appear to indicate a air leak in the fuel system. The engine starts but loses it’s prime. I’d check for any apparent signs of both fuel and or air…"

B43 ENGINE CUT OUT AT AT START AND HOT WATER STARVATION

Hi SeaKnots friends,The Yanmar 55 in out 43 invariably starts immediately then cuts out after 2 seconds running when it then takes 5-8 seconds cranking to restart......it seems as if the injection systems needs repriming. Is there a one way valve to prevent fuel back flow after shutting down?.Second niggle involves the hot water system. Whilst showering the water supply pump switches on and off as a result of the accumulator switch pressure changes. While the pump is running there is plenty of…See More

"Robert, glad to hear you got it fixed. That system is over engineered. Most other boats, including many Beneteau’s have exactly what you changed to, a simple on off switch. Take care Mike"

"Thanks to all who replied. Mike was correct and the problem was in the tricky control box. Beneteau wanted many, many dollars for a new box so I simply placed two inline waterproof switches, one in the shower, one near the sink and it works…"

"Robert, I'm pretty sure you can check the switch at the control box you mentioned. If I recall correctly there's a wire connector that can be disconnected allowing you to check the switch with a multimeter. I believe the switch in the sump…"

Dave Shore replied to Robert & Sandy's discussion FLOAT SWITCH IN AFT SHOWER SUMP IN OUR 43 in the group Beneteau 40 & 43
"Robert, The wires run directly from the switch up to the small box under the sink with the manual switch. You can disconnect the wires there and check the status of the switch with a meter. Should be pretty straightforward."

FLOAT SWITCH IN AFT SHOWER SUMP IN OUR 43

We were quietly enjoying a balmy summer evening when the aft shower sump pump began its annoying slurp, slurp, without any water to move.It appears something has failed, be it the float switch or the small integrated circuit which is part of the wiring under the sink.Any ideas as to the cure for it appears the entire sump must be removed to review the state of the switch, or is there a wiring clue to checking out the control unit with a multi meter.Happy New Year to all, warm, hot and smoky in…See More

I saw your question about the wiring in the B43 cockpit table. Our's is a US built and has a socket on top of the table for a lamp. There is a switch on the front of the table tha turns the lamp on/off. I hope this helps.
