"Hi B40 2007
There have been previous posts on this issue.
I had the same problems
a) Tank 2 - Fuel wire is on wrong pin behind VDO panel – see previously posed wiring diagram - I changed this to Tank 1.
b) My boat also had the wrong…"
"HiI installed mine at stern. The Paguro was the only brand one that would fit as it is small and light. The starboard locker is over fuel sender (which I had to replace) so you might check if you still have access.RegardsDavid"
"Hi I have a two cabin and it was not difficult to replace sender unit with the revised factory part with bent arm. Although you need to remove everything from port lazarette remove a few screws from the dividing wall, lift floors and timber beam.…"
I replaced std batteries with 4 AGM Lifeline 105AH batteries in two banks (second bank behind engine) plus AGM lifeline starting battery.
Also Paguro 4000 generator and second 40 amp charger (next to original) to charge banks independently and…"
In early models float arm was too short and they did not bend float arm to match shape of tank.
See photo of my original send (when tank half empty still showed FULL).
In later models they changed VDO sender and bent arm.
See pfd of more…"
"Hi Just one more place to check for hard to find leaks:
Look at rear water tank, behind batteries and examine the small gap at the corner between plastic tank and white hull grid (the gap is only small but should be dry to bottom).
This looks good, but as the sender is located about 50mm below top of tank, can sender measure deths above top of sender?
Also did you have it programed for the shape of the fuel tank and if so do you have data for…"
"Just completed the fresh water conversion on both our B43 heads. Was not outrageously difficult though I will say it was made easier since I was able to consult another B43 owner who has done the conversion (Thank you Mike!!). Picked up two new…"
"On a previous Beneteau that I owned, I was able to take the saltwater inlet hose for the head and connect it to the sink's water drain hose using a "T". By closing the sink drain seacock, I was able to fill the sink with…"
"I tapped into the pressure side for the sink, then connected that hose to the solenoid I purchased from my Beneteau dealer. Also purchased with the solenoid was a one way check valve which is designed to prevent any water from…"
"At first, I hooked into the unpressurized water system, using the (otherwise unused) third valve located on the water manifinld. The manifold is the valve set located next to the hot water heat. The top two values are the ones you use to switch…"
Nice boat and nice half model. I wonder why they always only make half model, rather than a whole one. It would look so much better to have a whole model. Then it would go against tradidition, and creates double the work. Or more realistically only 10% more than a half model.
"I use a bridle set up for a snubber which works well. We do swing at anchor and either side of the bridle takes the load. Lots of options and opinions out there. Pick the one you feel comfortable with and use it every time you anchor.
"We carry 100ft 3/8 ht chain spliced to 150ft of rode with original 45lb Delta quickset anchor . Have not drug since installing chain. In my humble opinion, proper scope is as important as ground tackle. Addition of height,…"
Has anyone changed to fresh water flush. If so, exactly what parts were needed. I have look online for a Jabsco fresh water flush kit, but can't seem to find the necessary parts. Any help and pics would be a great help. Thanks
"Peter, thank you for your input.
Last night I ordered the 55lb Rocna and 200' of 3/8"HT chain for peace of mind. (I hope that's 3/8"chain on my 40's windlass) So, there will be no weak links in the system. Now I will…"
"I went thru this same thought process about a year ago. After quite a bit of research I decided on the peace of mind of not introducing a "weak" link into the system. Some people advocate taking the the coupling link to a…"
