OTOH - perhaps Dalton would prefer not to have a huge crowd take over his secret spot... :)

z- you are right, if all goes well! If so, you're welcome to come and share the deck! :) Anyone else too - we'll make it a party! If Dalton et al are interested, maybe a raft-up? It can be a busy place, and I'm not sure of what is necessary to have your boat there. Dalton - do you have to have a Newport moorage or anything? I'm a member of Sail Newport, so that might be helpful.

Nice way to spend a couple of weekends - I think I'm going to have to schedule those dates for next year - need crew? :) I spent the last week going through ancient family stuff to clean out a storage unit. But this weekend I took a whirlwind tour of the Olympic Peninsula.

A beautiful Saturday morniing here in Newport, RI. I hope everyone has a great weekend! I am going to listne to some Jazz at the Jazz Festival and do some boat work installin some new equipment.

Last weekend here was the Newport Folk Festival and I got to see Pete Seegart (of Peter Paul & Mary), Judy Collins and Joan Biaez! What a great treat all while sitting in Quietly's cockpit anchored just off the stage. What a weekend!!!

On my trip down from Boston last Fall I anchored in more than a few places and found them most welcoming (e.g. Rhone River area, etc.) I'd have to check my log book for details such as Lat/Lon, but I even dropped the hook off Pawtuxet (?) and went ashore with Olivia.

Now I was NOT staying multiple nights so that may be a different matter.

Hope it goes well, and I will be returning to the area next summer if I don'r head to the Bahamas .

lightning storms are here lol....is unwise to sail in them without a larger boat as a budddy--keep them close to you at all times---remember --you are the only lightning rod in town, and the stuff has to come down somewhere-----go figger----

Dalton,
My boat is on the hard in Dighton MA (up the river from Fall River, in the NE corner of the Bay), and I would be very happy to get together on weekends (I'm still working during the week and it's a bit far to try to do Newport after work.) In fact, I'll buy you a beer and you can tell me about the islands - I have it in my plan to sail there in a few years. Things on my agenda include checking out the big used boat parts store in the Wickford/Cranston area (don't know the name or exact location yet), another is to visit the Jamestown Distributors store - I think it is in Bristol. I have an F250 so if there's anything big you want to haul around, give me a holler as well. I can probably even loan you a blanket if you need one!
