an interesting side trip would be to tour the 9/11 memorial in new jersey.  Not far from jersey city i believe!

It is likely to be double that. The season is from mid May to Mid October. But I searched high and low to find something like I have. I have direct access to many areas without going under one bridge or traveling long distances through rivers or back waters to get to the ocean. I travel a half mile and turn starboard and head out to blue water. Or travel to NYC and take the east river to the north shore of Long Island, or travel up the Hudson the the statue of Liberty and on to Bear mountain or West Point. I can also sail the entire day in the bay between Staten Island and New Jersey. In any case, I found it to be the best bang for my buck.
I have no idea of where you are located or looking, but you may find something if you look further in shore.
I've been sailing the past two days and took off today to give me a third day of sailing this week. Check my site www.ashworthdive.com Lots of luck on your search. Jim

thank you jim, How long is a season? I need to pay 100.00 or less a month. Otherwise I am in negitive cash flow and the Admiral is threatening a courtmarshal and hanging!

Al,
The east coast is a pretty large area. I live in New Jersey and think I have a reasonable spot, but it could cost you $1000 for the season. No bridges to deal with, on Raritan Bay. You have immediate access to NYC or the Hudson, Long Island, The Jersey Shore, and much more. Let me know if you need more info.

anybody know where I can find an inexpensive slip or mooring site on the east coast. Anywhere is fine as long as there is public transportation near by. I am looking for something less that 100.00 per month for a 27 ft boat. As I am existing on VA disability the lower the price the better.

Picked up my "27" on July 1st. Spent a bunch of money at west Marine!!! Set sail
made it to Reedville VA without hitting anything expensive!

Everyone must sail the Dismal Swamp! Wow beautiful! So nice it is breath taking. Ask the Lock Masters about the side trip up the service canal to the Canal train and Lake. I am going to try to return there to do the side trip in November. Pictures of dismal swamp will be posted on my site later.

One big happy bunch of O'day owners. (If you weren't there, eat your heart out!)

If anyone has an ODay 27 and has done "improvements to the interior, especially Galley area, I'd like to hear about it! Better yet, send me some pictures. I'd like some ideas.
Thanks
Al
