Pete,
I'm hoping to make it to the Rondayvous this year. Even if the crossing takes 8 hours to cross the bay and head up the Hudson, we can spend the next day enjoying and then head back Sunday to prepare for work the following day. It is doable!
Hope to meet you face to face.

Granted, your "Lil Provo" is a good 10 feet shorter than my O'day, but the crossing from your homeport to mine should take you a good deal less than 8 hours. I keep my boat in winter storage at Morgan Marina on Cheesequake Creek, and can usually make the trip to or from there to Jersey City in about 6, including time lost to drawbridge openings.
FYI, Newport Marina is only about a mile or mile and a half north of the Battery. Details will be forthcoming in The rOnDAYvous Report e-newsletter.

Jim,
I hope you're still planning to come to the rOnDAYvous. If so, you should act quickly to reserve a slip for the weekend. (I hear they're likely to go quickly.) A credit card number is needed to hold the reservation, but your account won't be charged until you check in -- or cancel in advance.
See you there.
Pete
Jim,
I made the trip this past weekend from Cheesequake Creek (Morgan Marina) to Jersey City in just under 5 hours. Can't imagine you'd have any trouble with the journey.
See you at the rOnDAYvous.

Pete, Looking forward to this years rondayvous... any
tips on making the trip from RI?
Hey Joe,
I saw that you've already reserved a spot for the weekend. That's really great!
My best suggestion for making the trip from RI would be to hook up with Bill and Patty Coxe (Kukulcan II) out of New London. I'm not sure when they're starting their trip to Jersey City, but Bill has said he'd be willing to serve as coordinator for a Long Island Sound flotilla. You can reach Bill at wlcoxe at yahoo dot com. They're currently making their way up the ICW from North Carolina, so e-mail acquisition might be a bit spotty, but he'll get back to you, for sure.
If I can think of other options, I'll let you know. See you soon.
Pete
