Hi Jim, have never heard of iPad guitar. I'll send you a message.

We are currently in Rio Dulce, Guatemala for hurricane season. Loving it here. After 7 years in the eastern Caribbean its quite a change. We took the scenic route from Grenada back up the chain, over to St. Martin, BVI, then Puerto Rico to Jamaica, Jamaica to Guatemala. Nice to sit and chill for a bit.

Wow, haven't been here in a while. Currently land bound in MT. I wanted to reply to Val abou learning to play the iPad guitar as an alternative. It's a little strange at first, but if you stay with it you start to get some interesting sounds. Also, if you like making music, check out garage band in the iPad it is amazing. Hope to be back in the Caribbean late fall. Last time there in May I played with a calypso band! A great experience, hope to do that again. Play on all you sailors.

Hello All, new to Seaknots and pleased to find some gitbox toting seafarers! I haven't played in about 3? yrs. (long time) due to some nerve damage in my shoulder and arm. Could no longer play L-handed so am trying to learn to play R-handed. Pretty frustrating but I am determined. So should you ever hear some unidentified instrument twanging in your anchorage....its probably me! I'm open to any suggestions anyone might have to help me along. Cheers

Right now we are working on our generator at Crown Bay Marina, on the opposite end of the island but once we have that work done, we will probably do some exploring on the other end of the island. We also want to go to Culebra and Vieques since our boat buddies that have been there rave about the great snorkeling. Thanks for the response and good wishes.

Jim, my other son (Chris) is working at Compass Point Marina, also in Red Hook. If you're on that end of the island look them up. Chris has his 100 ton license and loves sailboats. A picture of Chris is on my SeaKnots page above. He is the white kid with long dreads. My son Jonathan works at Duffy's bar. I love St. thomas, and those islands. Have fun.

Hey Bryan, No Moola or bookings but that wasn't my goal. Down in Grenada you could make arrangements to play at some of the bars and put out a donation jar which sometimes netted a few dollars. In order to get a booking I think you have to have some serious equipment maybe even with lights and enough power to overcome the people who don't stop talking. Hey Skip, I will check out Duffy's the next time we are over in Red Hook. Thanks for the info.

Hey Jim, my son works as a bartender at Duffy's over in Red Hook, St. Thomas. There are some bars over there with outdoor patios and room to play. Don't know if they have done that at Duffy's. The manager's name is Jen.

What was the crowd mix and did it result in any bookings or moolah? The family and I are looking to expand our cruising kitty and I'm a crooner as well.

Played at an Open Mic last night at Tickles a nice bar/restaurant in the Crown Bay Marina in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas. Used the house PA for my guitar and it sounded pretty good. Good reception from the audience for my short set of oldies. There are several open mic nights around the area.
