Well, our home port isn't where we are. Home port shown on USCG docs and boat stern is Boulder, CO because that's where we lived when we bought the boat. We're full time cruisers so we're never in one place very long. We use YOTREPS position reporting so that friends and family can see where we are http://www.pangolin.co.nz/yotreps/reporter_list.php
Our YOTREPS ID is KI4RTA and I'm usually pretty good about sending a report within a day of when we arrive somewhere.
It's interesting to visit the YOTREPS reporting list just to see where in the world people are cruising.
Our home port does get comments from passing boats. And yes, sailing across those Kansas wheat fields with a 7' draft was quite a struggle.!

Our homeport is Koper in Slovenia ( Europe )
Koper is a few km from Trieste ( Italy ) and a few more from Croatia away ...
Some of you who made a trip to Slovenia with a cruise ship may now it ( it is the only harbor in Slovenia with enough deept for the big cruising ships ! )

Hi,
we spent some time in Pirovac, Zadar and Split. That was in the mid 70ties.
We motor- boated to the island of Kornat and also visited the other island near by. Several of our boats were named Cornat after the island. Have not sailed there. You must be close to the area we know. We used to tow our boat down south, going through Austria and then through Lubliana, down the coastal highay.

"Michael,
From experience over three keel boats a fully battened main is almost a requirement.
Not only will it make dropping the sail into the boom bag far easier it certainly reduces any flogging and vastly lengthens the life of the sail. While…"
