Hi Art -- check out The Sailing Club group. We're based in Northern NJ. Only three of us have signed up here so far, but the club has just over 100 members. Most don't own boats, we charter all over the place.
I assume you're on the east coast of Costa Rica? Even so, it's a long way to travel hey? New York's sea water freezes a bit if I remember correctly from my winter visit - hope you have some heating ;-)
I'm doind the Liberty Landing course! The books looks so thorough, so I'm very confident that the practical side will be as good! Where are you located?
i sooo love these boats---this one is just a bit beyond my abilities, i really hate to say---i like to save them --not watch them go downhill, as this one is doing---if were mine--would be fixed and sailing by now----i would like to meet this person if possible and maybe we can sail a bit------
good morning--i hope your day has been going well--- i used to live in long island noooojoawrk-----and l earned to sail in hudson river on antique sloop with gaff rigging......hope fully you are not freezing yet---do you still come out to cali ????

"I had to replace my sheeve on both sides and really struggled to get the bolts out. Once I had them out, each was bent thus the challenge. I ended up stripping one or two of the hex bolts and used an angle grinder to square off the head of the bolt…"
The starboard side of my Traveller is starting to lift up. I am guessing to remove the center 5mm Allen bolt that goes through the middle of the sheeves, although I cannot get it to budge, to access it. Does anyone have any experience with this??Thanks Dave B43 Shore's AdriftSee More
