Kemah Xmas light boat parade 2009

Just got back from Kemah xmas boat parade on a 56' pwr yacht in heavy fog... 2 electrical fires, almost t-boned a SAILBOAT anchored broadside in the fairway, came less than 10' from hitting rocks, and damn near ran down a game warden boat. I wasn't skippering but I was doing a lot of yelling.....now if only I can remember where the hot coco and mint schnapps is.....

i was spectatin from th docks. The fog aided to th sense of impairement so I didnt get too awful 'lit.' Heard a splash near my boat where I saw a mother retrieving her 3ish year old from th drink. Least th child had her lil lifejacket on. What really made my night was meetin Mr. Barry (seapainter) and his lovely companion.

"Auto ascending setup is an interesting idea, though it takes a bit of fiddling around to get it right. Once it's dialed in, it actually works quite well."

"Michael, From experience over three keel boats a fully battened main is almost a requirement. Not only will it make dropping the sail into the boom bag far easier it certainly reduces any flogging and vastly lengthens the life of the sail. While…"
