I have a 7 foot icicle in my window. I'm counting the drops as it melts away. Winter is soooo boring.

Has anyone heard of Put-in-palousa?

Somehow with all the snow around my barn and it being around 25F inside I have not got the desire to think about sailing right now.It is usualy May before mine makes it the the water.

I was just looking at the calendar today and realizing that it's the middle of February and telling friends that in another six weeks I can start getting ready to launch. The thaw is coming!! Woo hoooo!

I am sure counting the days. Our club is getting ready for the half-way to launch party, I just got the spring fit-out worksheet from the yard, and i am ready for spring. At least the days are longer now...

Entropy, is on the hard. We hauled her early this afternoon. The new(to us)marina has wonderful, skilled workers, and our boat was treated with care and love. Who could ask for anything more. They power sprayed her hull, set and leveled her cradle, and made sure she was 'comfy' once she was set down. Being at a 'do it yourself' yacht club for the past 17 yrs., it was kinda nice having all that done. We were also told, that there is 24 hour personal on the grounds, and weekly boat/cradle checks, durnig the winter. Winter checking was up to us at the YC. The saying goes, "you get what you pay for", we've found out already the extra money spent at the marina is peace of mind, and A-1 service. Now it's, trying to figure out how to tarp her with the mast, up.

I'm in denial over the sailing season ending. I spent most of the day at the marina with friends. I helped them get their sails off, boom put away, etc., and tried to avoid thinking about having to do the same for my own boat later. We tried to take a sail on my boat, but, besides being fairly cold out there, the lake was way too choppy. It was like riding a hobby horse so we weren't out very long. We could have done it, but it would have been damned uncomfortable. Things are supposed to actually warm up a bit this week, so I'm going to try to sqeeze in a few more sailing days before putting her away. It's not the last minute yet!!

Mansfield? Practically a neighbor! (Give or take an hour or two.) Welcome aboard, Jennifer!

We've been stirring up mud in the Huron area, too. I've never seen the water level this low.
