Phil has been working on Changes lately - had problem with some of the bottom pain chipping off - ordered more bottom paint which came in today so will apply that tomorrow as he's already done the preparation earlier. Our date to go in the water is 830am April 26. He's retired so has the time to do this during the week.

I started bottom prep Thursday, wore my arms out. LOL. Looking for coarser sand paper. Love boat yards in the spring.

I actually prepped the bottom on thursday, painted the bottom on friday, and 2nd coated on saturday...took the tape off sunday, and moved my launch date up 1 week. life is looking good.
This weather has been too good to be true! Can it be? Spring? Already? Wow!!!
I hate to be overly optimistic, but I'm thinking I'll be spending some time at the marina this weekend. Maybe get an early jump on the bottom paint. I still don't trust the weather enough to varnish, but I can do that after I launch.
It hit 43 degrees here earlier today. And it's supposed to be warmer tomorrow. I'm not going to delude myself by thinking it's the Big Thaw, but it should be warm enough to go to Meinke's Marina tomorrow and pump my bilge. Rain and melting snow in the cockpit sometimes seeps down there. Not usually too much, but enough to make the drive worthwhile. Hell, any excuse to visit the boat!
