Well soon we will have more art posted in our Artists Group...see groups
I recently saw this on a website called: http://www.instructables.com

It's how to build a little sailboat in a light bulb. Looks fairly easy to do and I thought it would be a charming little present for sailors. It's not expensive, and even for someone that's not crafty [that would be ME], looked fairly easy to do. It would be a great stocking stuffer.

I found the video on Charlotte's Boat in Bulb Idea...Looks neat...I will try it.
Check out the Cruising Compass, (issue #115) at www.cruisingcompass.com (look for the Archives pull-down menu to see past issues.

Or search for "More Fun Holiday Gifts for your Favorite Sailor"

Also in the same issue, see "More Fun Holiday Gifts for your Favorite Sailor" - a list of great websites to find gifts for that Special Sailor on your List!

Don't miss the December issue of Blue Water Sailing Magazine for more gift ideas. Should hit news stands soon.
With limited space on cruising boats, my wife found these great shoes that you can change the tops on. The tops lay flat in a drawer. There is one bottom (or sole) and the tops are interchangeable. My wife found hers at http://www.iwantthoseshoes.net
A small gift that I like to give to fellow sailors is the Mikasa Regatta Bottle Stopper.

Designed with a decorative top that resembles an elegant sail boat, these Mikasa bottle stoppers will certainly be a treasured addition to your friend's homes. Each of these delightful Mikasa bottle stoppers is 5.5" tall and comes individually packaged in a distinctive Mikasa gift box

But if they're real sailors then they've never opened a bottle without finishing it. :)

And if they're cruisers their wine probably comes in a box.

Bill, You are certainly right about that! Give them a bottle of wine.....forget the stopper!

A gift card to West Marine of course ;-)
Don't mean to hijack this thread but started Long Island Sound Group. Why don't you come over and join it.
Lola suggested I put a note here about things I make for sailors. Visit MY SITE for details. Here's a picture of one thing I do, a pair of star-knot cufflinks.

These are beautiful,,,please post that purse in the Artworks please and these too
