I'm an old sailor, new owner of a old Catalina 30, docked at an old Matlacha, FL marina. Like to join your Catalina group.

I would be interested as to how it comes out Pretty lady, been thinking about a hard Dodger for Surprise.

New project! Building a hard dodger using the existing 1" SS tubular frame with some minor mods. I'm making this up as I go. I'll post pics as it takes shape.

After about two years of research, we are the proud new owners of a 1980 Catalina 30 tall rig. The boat needs some repairs (all common to Catalinas so expected), but so far the enjoyment/repair expense balance is still heavily favoring enjoying the boat tremendously. Our sail from Annapolis where we bought the boat to our marina couldn't have been more perfect. The rain stopped just long enough for us to have favorable winds and lots of sun on the four hour trip up the Chesapeake. We'll have lots of planning, list making, and more research to do before getting underway again in the spring and I'm loving every minute of it!

Hello All! I have to take my pushpit off due to a weld letting go on the forward port post. Noticed a hairline crack in april about 1/2 " long. This does not look like an easy access job. Anyone ever do it? Unfortunatley my furling line is lead back to a block attached to. Will use winch & cleat for now I think. Thanks! Terri
