About Me:
I love to sail, and was afforded the chance to own a big boat that would fit my needs for the present as well as in the future. Presently I sail on Mobile Bay, was planning a trip south, I have now completed said trip south, now retired and planning on the next job for the next few years while I finish preping Surprise for Blue water, and get some blue water sailing under my belt. Update, first short blue water trip done,Update, 2nd and third trips off shore done, both Mobile to Pensacola, Pensacola to Mobile. Planning more trips now.

Summer Sailing Trip, Mobile Bay Alabama to Port St. Joseph Florida.


We Set sail Tuesday morning destined for Port St. Joe.  This is our first over night sailing trip.  Forecast is for good winds and calm seas.  We have a nice sail out of the bay, heading south till we can clear the Mobile ship channel.  We head east staying about 3-5 miles of shore, we are sailing on a beam reach winds out of the south.  It’s a fantastic sail, I head below to…

No pics to post yet, but just finished an awesome trip from Mobile bay to Port St. Josehp FL. what a trip. did an over night pasage there, and one on the way back.  It was great weather, lil warm, but thats part of it.  I am so stoked, want to go for another open water passage.  I took the 4-7 watch so I could see the sun rise, ;) I got to see the sunset as well being the skipper I was up at all hours checking things, Gosh I love this sailing on open water, We out ran a storm first passage…

Wow cool, spinnaker will be fun. Only took one spin class on lake..on a light wind day..figures... got it flying tho and had to have launch bring us back..lol. If all goes well with gasket replacing, i might try to find two opening ports used for the head for a later in the summer projects..maybe..depends how brave i get and if I don't drop any of the cabin ports in the drink.. :-) ttyl going to boat in a couple of hours with long underwear on...weather sux!!!!!
