For those of us in the US, Labor Day is always a long awaited opportunity to meet up with other cruisers. Share your plans below and maybe you'll end up meeting other SeaKnots members in your area.

Andrea and I plan on sailing Can Drac to Oyster Bay in the Long Island Sound and meet up with some old and new friends. If you are in the area and want to join us drop us a comment below and let us know!

Anyone coming to Myrtle Beach SC?
We will proabably sail from Bahia Marina over to Padre Island and meet up with an number of the members of the Padre Island Yacht Club - party on Garth!!
Patrice and I will be in BVI with friends on our first charter. We'll be leaving tomorrow and most likely be out of touch with email through labor day. If anyone is in the area feel free to call us on the radio. We'll be spending the week on Shiraz.
Perhaps a trip to Catalina, but I get concerned with too many boats during holiday weekends. I prefer the quiet times. Can always day sails and try to find the Blue Whales that have been in the channel off Palos Verdes.
Plan to sail on Brother's 423 Beneteau "Breezing Up" out of Inner Harbor, Baltimore MD to various ports on the Chesapeake Bay. He will have his two sons aboard so we should for once get a photo of his blue gennaker flying taken from the dinghy. Have several such photos from on board, but need to see it from seaward.

Will anchor off the Naval Academy practice field at Annapolis and dinghy into the Ego Alley for dinner at the Fleet Reserve Club next to the more expensive Marriot dock side dinning and watch the parade down Ego Alley of the expensive yachts(Love it when the plan comes together).

Working son have to get back to work, so will be dropping them off early to catch a plane out of BWI.

Will be anchoring in Sillery Bay, Magothy River Labor Day where Skipper's girlfriend brother has a place and we have been invited to a cook out.
We will depart Havre de Grace, MD on Saturday morning with two other couples and go where the wind takes us!
I am opting to work, yuk, but safer at work than on the lake with bearingless cigar boats and impatient jet ski's -Will be thinking of yall. Our local club will be having a 10 mile race on 9/13, soon enough, and I shall get my fill then. Whew!, 4 miles and Im punished. 10 will send me to the infirmary.

Sail Safe!

Preshate your thoughts. It wasnt too bad. Didnt log any boat time, though I am filled with joy. Call it downsizing for freedom to sail away, but I found a buyer for the lot of my lifelong hobby. It was hard to part with my stuff but it couldnt have gone to a better home. Ill miss my things but putting that life to rest only seems practical, for I have places to sail and sailors to meet.

Gradually Im committing to the dream.

Launched Friday afternoon at Cape Coral Yacht Basin for a 4 day bunker in sail as Gustav spread the feeder bands upon us.
100% humidity and night temps of 79-81 was hot clammy and lots of wind and rain.
Had a great time just sitting in cocpit as thunder storms pruduceing up to 40 knot gusts. Even the 2 fans below didn't help at night. Should have brought my AC 5000btu that fits in my custom hatch and gen. set at rear.
After September temps will get lower and plan for long weekends and week trips.
We did find a empty Dock Sat. and walked accross the street for Karioke until 12 pm or was it 1 am and next day full buffet.

Will be sailing with Bro. Bob on his Beneteau 423 "Breezing Up" on the Chesapeake Bay September 3-14, 2009. Probably will not get any further South than Solomon. Hail us if in the Northern part of the Bay for possible raft up.
Captain Ron as Bos'n on "Breezing Up"
