I have noted over time that several generator brands and sizes have been selected. I have a 2 cabin B43 and beginning my selection process. I have two air conditioning units, a 16K btu and a 10K btu unit, along with microwave, etc. What size and brands have folks chosen with similar electrical loads? Also, any things learned about mounting locations? I am considering the port lazerette. Also, how much sound difference have folks identified from using the water / gas separator  after the water lift muffler.

Really appreciate the group's input.

Hi Sam

Mine is a 2 Cab 40

Following Alain's advice I installed a Paguro 4000 in rear starboard lazarette.

Paguro is raw water cooled, but light and only one to fit without cutting.

I have similar loading to you and am very pleased with the Paguro.

I don't have gas water separator and don't feel much need for it.

But I have (well almost finished) put extra sound insulation in lazarette.

Particularly necessary on bulkhead adjacent to rear cabin

Have seen picture of a Westerbeke in port lazarette.

See below

Hello  Sam,

Here are some pictures of the generator. Mastervolt 3,5M on an isolation pad and with water gas seperator. You hardly hear the generator.

At home I have pictures of the work finished.

That way the generator is low and centered and the lazarette free.

For the moment all works well.  The Paguro 4000 or a Panda would fit to.

We don't have AC so 3,5 with the mass combi 2500/100 charges well the 600AH AGM and allows watermaker and microwave.

Best regards.

Denis

Hi Sam

Paguro is the best ...

If you want, I can ask prices from Voipi ( manufacture of The Paguro situated near Trieste,a few minutes by car from my Homeport). Maybe we can manage that I send it to you ass a present ( cause of the taxes ) :-)
