I get massive static interference over my VHF when I switch on my anchor light.  On - static; Off - goes away.  I've tried a couple of things like placing ferrite suppression filters at varies places, but no effect.  Clue 1:  Could be a new problem since I replaced the incandescent with a LED mast light as I don't recall having this problem before (although the boat is new and it could have always been there and I just didn't notice).  Clue 2:  Only effects the VHF at the nav station, not the remote one in the cockpit.  I have a feeling this is a grounding issue, but not sure where to begin.  Any suggestions?

Not yet ... but I hope that I won't have those problems with my new LED's
Clayton, I'd suspect both. If your LED light is a good one, it probably has amps/volt regulated and this will generate some noise on line (have you noticed anything on sound/TV system ?). Coupled with a bad powering on VHF, that noise might be more pronounced. Consider how bad Beneteau wire things aboard; I had to replace my VHF wiring after some time opening-closing the cabinet where it is installed. I rebuilt the wires with same gauge but I both fastened connectors and soldered it. Try revisiting your antena connectors and connection, these where found faulty on mine too ...
Thanks Ricardo. I'll give that a try.
