Nothing in the works currently,I spent a month(Jan.15th-Feb.14th)going from St,Augestine to the keys and then back to Titusville with a buddy.Pulled the old girl out of the drink for some paint, sails and electronics upgrades.
Now I'm out of vacation time(and low on money)
Thats why I can't wait to retire.
Unlike many yacht-clubbers,I'm a blue collar guy.Proud, but poor!
hi mike, how are you? any adventures planned this summer? i can't believe june is almost over, i LOVE summer. maybe someday i'll be able to go where its always summertime.
Hi,Great page! nice places you've sailed to also.
I dream of the day I can watch my dock-lines slip off the cleats, pour a cup of strong coffee and sail off to a destination I've seen on National Geographic or heard stories of!
I too hope to meet someone who shares the sense of adventure and the love of salt-spray.Mike
Yes, left Sarasota Fl in a 35' Morgan, sailed around the keys, stayed in Marathon a year, crossed to Bimini January 1998, cruised from there to the island chain and found a CT47' . I bought that and we sailed the islands in that for a few years, he left in March 2004 (the worst hurricane season!). I tried to find crew on the internet - another long story. Decided I needed to just do it myself - not easy on a 47' boat, but I did have self-tailing winches, thank goodness. Dodged a few hurricanes that year, had the boat up for sale but I kept moving so that was hard to do. Finally sold it in January 2007 in Venezuela.
I miss it very much, even now I want to be there instead of stranded on this sandbar. I found I didn't like being a singlehander - easy to be a bit of a hermit. It's not as fun alone and it's not as safe either, so I don't think I'd go out alone again. But definitely would go out again if I found a compatible partner who really wanted to go.
I don't have any definite sailing plans right now. I am currently shopping for a 34-39 foot boat. Hopefully buy it before summer is over. Maybe some day sails till then. Right now I am a member of a sail club down here.
pat, i think i would lean the same way. islander has always been one of my favorites. i think my previous islander felt stronger than my cal. there is a great site that you can go on and compare boats and actualy punch in the things most important to you and come up with a list of boats that fit your criteria. maybe you have already heard of it. its called sail calculator pro...let me know if you find the site.
Hi Debbie, how would you compare your cal to the islander? i'm leanin toware the islander for coastwise and maybe sea of cortez. Thanks and keep on sailin!
Hi Deb! Theres nothing wrong with Spirit ...I think its what keeps all us sailors going when the going gets tough! Keep the dream alive ...you will sail there one day....
Great to see another woman captain who takes her boat out for misadventures! It is fun being the one who has to solve all these boat problems, eh? My boat is a Caliber 33 and I grew up in Southern California. I'd love to return someday, but I guess it's really hard to find a live aboard slip out there.

or you can call them and order them. I like to support the smaller independent bookstores - but B&N and Borders and the like are fine, too. And, of course, there's Amazon.
My character is named Seychelle Sullivan and she gets into more misadventures even than I do.
I see now from your profile Redondo Beach - beautiful spot, I was there last September, spent a few days along that coast at the end of a business trip - do you sail in that area?
