Thanks Pat,
It’s a Venture of Newport 23’, originally made by the MacGregor Company in limited editions. They only made these boats by special order during the month of October from about 1971-1978.

Hi Pat, I'm in Bangor, Northern Ireland. I have a Freedom 25 with wing mast and also crew for racing on a Sigma 33. We have a fantistic marina with deep water for miles, Start line 200 yards from the marina opening. Sadly though, much rain, little sun and no heat.

Good Morning, Pat!
I haven't sailed that side of the hill since my crewing days on the Zodiac, but I can tell you that sailing here in MY neck of the lake has been EXCELLENT!
My first mate and I just got back from five days on Lake Roosevelt, where all beaches are public property, and the morning winds in Sept. are dependable and steady.
(P.S. The photo in my portfolio is of me on a 52' ketch in the vicinity of Mazatlan, Sin., MX., last winter...not sure if it was Dec. or Jan, as I was there 4 months...but the weather there is wonderful, after Sept.)
Sail Well,
Dale

Ya, just moved here from Fort Lauderdale. Kinda different, but the cabin on the lake is "base camp". Seattle in late august and september... Port Towsend wooden boat show is great and so is the cruising in the San Juans and South Puget Sound. Not great winds, but great cruising. Some members in Washington can give you details.

Interesting. I grew up in OKC and didn't see much water around Sand Springs! You've seen more sailing destinations than most coastal folks!

Dave, great that you can cover all that distance being a "mobile" sailor! I'll check out the web site to LOWISA. On our swing back from Seattle we'll ask you what to see off the beaten path in the Black Hills in our little rv. Sail on man.... pat

Hi Again Pat, Summer plans...well since this summer I'm gonna be fairly bust i guess the only "trip" I'm going to make is to the LOWISA. I'll haul from the Black Hills to Kenora, Ontario and launch there this year for a week sailing on Lake of the Woods.
(see www.lowisa.org). Usually I launch in Warroad MN and spend three days sailing up to Kenora prior to the event (and then three days back aftrerwards) but this year i'm kinda short on time so will pull her all the way up.

Hi Pat, she's a 21 foot sloop, an Aquarius. Very stable baot, not tender at all. Pretty heavey for her size but that makes her smooth riding in difficult conditions. Furthest off shore I've been in her wa about 50 miles West of Key West (was heading out to the Dry Tortugas but got turned around by weather).
