Dave, Everyone getting together sounds great. I will try to collect some data from members in order to come up with a location in close proximity to as many members as possible. Yea Dave, we called the knot a truckers hitch for years before I went to Louisiana and worked offshore where they called the knot the Cajun Come-Along.
Trucker's Hitch is fairly generic as there are many out there that most of them are knots that end up impossible to undo, or bind up.

We do a DelMarVa every year for practice & training.
Last year it was deemed HELLmarva.
Got caught by a storm, blew 70+ knots. Bad night on the bay.
We do lots of MOB drills and even have a small race in the ocean.
We'll do our next Hellmarva in May, right after finals week.
