SeaKnots

My Dad and I are on the way down to Ft Lauderdale to be onboard a cat for our first series of 3 lesson sets. We are to be at the marina by 3pm 5/23/09. I hope Dad does not get seasick (he does have a prescription patch to wear). I will be fine and am looking forward to the adventure. I have been keeping up with all the blogs and comments that I can and appreciate everyones encouragement and help. I enjoyed talking to L O L A recently, but can't seem to reach her lately. She is a few steps ahead of me in achieving my dream and I like to hear what it is like for everyone on their journey. I will be documenting the experience as I have cameras, DVR, and my laptop, so I will have plenty to reflect on when I return. I will post some new pictures and try to update this blog when I can while out to sea. I understand we will be in Biscayne Bay for a night and also around Key Largo, FL. Maybe I can find WIFI and update blog whenever possible. Your friend in spirit, Daniel

Hi Daniel, I have found that keeping ginger chews on hand helps alot when one's stomach doesn't feel well. You can usually find them at candy stores or Trader Joe's. Also ginger beer is good and saltines. Also helps if you don't eat anything fried, heavy for a few days before, but have a good breakfast before setting out. You and your Dad should have a great time! Tell him not to look into the sea..LOL..that almost got me once...look at the horizon and give him the helm alot. Good luck! Terri
