Not about a hurricane stalking O Town...what a surprise!

First off, my prayers go out to the people on the East side of Texas, especially Houston and Galvaston.

Mr. John Shasteen has posted some pics of the Yacht Club in Houston post Ike on the home page forum under Hurricane Ike. What horrible devastation. I was stunned at all the tremendous damage to the boats. Many of them were absolutely totaled.

Florida remains hurricane free for now as we continue to cross our fingers and toes. Sailing out on the Florida intercoastal this past weekend was fabulous. The top pic below is the Merritt Island bridge off Endless Wind's stern.

The middle pic is of a very large boat anchored on the south side of the Merritt Island bridge. Name is Princess Grace. She has been there for about 2 weeks. An American flag is waving off the back. We have nicknamed her the "ghost ship" (middle pic)

The water is still dropping at a fairly good rate. I have uploaded a pic of the canal marker so that you can see where the water is now. (bottom pic)

I hope everyone is keeping dry and safe. No sailing this weekend for me as household chores in O Town will keep me homebound. :)
