Previously, my wife and I had a Columbia 24 "iBoat" which I raced for two years with the Stockton Sailing Club, on the California Delta, but it was too small, no standing headroom, but we finally had a sailboat of our own to enjoy. We currently ha...
Hi Roger: I will be in Botega Bay on our Sailing Club annual Blue Water cruise some time in the 2nd week of September....on our way to Tomales Bay for a couple of days. I will be taking my Cal 2-27, with a crew person, who has all the local knowledge.
While I am not that familiar with the Cal 3-30's holding tank or lack thereof, there is a good website which I found on one of the Cal owners on this net, or just by searching Cal on Google.
Motoring is a lot easier than sailing by yourself on a wide 30 footer, or so I am told. Keep in touch, as I will provide you our group itinerary closer to September.
Hey Ron: This is Ol Dude aka Roger and I would be curious to see your Cal as I have a ton of questions if I could bother ya?
I think my holding tank was removed, and I can't find it tracing the the lines but there is a Head,
I guess I lucked out when purchasing my Cal3-30? As I have been told, Reading your profile you sound very knowledgable!
We live in Forestville about 20 miles from Bodega Bay, And our Boat is berthed in Moss Landing and stuck there till I can find a Marina up here or on the Bay, But we do like our Funky Lil Spot , It's just am a Lil Nervous bout even motoring out by myself, Even though shes powered by a 2002 Volvo Penta.
I have only Sailed once with a friend on his 23' Merit and my boat feels alot larger when I look from the tiller!!
Montery Bay really looks nice to Sail on if it were Calm? as you can see I am a Novice.
Anyway if you are ever in Bodega Bay on your Boat I would love to see it an talk to ya an maybe learn some. Roger & Roxy
