We are currently in St. Martin and headed for Grenada. It's great to be here especially after waiting in the DR for three weeks to cross the Mona Passage. Once we got to Ponce PR we had some great sailing to St. Thomas, Virgin Gorda and then a long squally passage to St. Martin. Now it should be day sails all the way to Grenada. We have been on the thornless/thorny path since the beginning of Feb. and we will be happy to be able to arrive somewhere that we can stay for a while. It has been a great experience and Blue Heaven has held up very well despite some rough passages and having the wind on our nose for 5 months. Well, I guess that's all for now. Hope to see some SeaKnots members in Grenada this summer and fall.

(In response to Deborah's note, I wrote): Antigua is certainly different from other Caribbean islands, in that it's not overrun with tourists, except during the race weeks. Although sailors aren't your typical tourists. Since it was my first time there, i can't really compare it to previous years, but i did find out that overall numbers were down a bit, so i guess the parties weren't as crazy as usual. They were however, loud and long. I'm not a big drinker, so i did not partake as others i witnesses, did. Those racers work hard out there on the boats and I guess they deserve to let off steam back ashore at the parties.
Overall, i found the island a safe, interesting and pretty place to visit. The locals offered friendly smiles and great BBQ! We met with the Exec Director of the Chamber of Commerce and the new Minister of Tourism and they both felt as though Antigua could be doing more to attract cruisers as well as racers. We'll be working with them to that end.

Spent some quality time in TCI at South Side Marina with Simon and Charlynn. A great place to recover after the passage from Mayaguana. Got a favorable weather window for trip to DR after 10 days of waiting. Read my blog post for detail. Having a great time. Plan on reaching Grenada by July 1st. Mona Passage next. Currently at Ocean World, very fun a nice change from anchoring out.
