It's Official Sailors make better lovers... NOT Official but True Nevertheless per our very own Sea Knot crew.

But we all knew this anyway ~ As to why ? What do you feel ?

From Yachting World, sent to me by Cruising Compass. For 'study's' conclusions, get a chuckle and read the whole thing or just skip down to the last 2 paragraphs..

It's official: Sailors make better lovers

The Onzin Institute in Amsterdam conducted a four-year study called 'Environmental Effects on the Virility Index', and the results astounded even the program's Director, Dr. Hijgen Krachtig.

While part of a larger project which attempted to measure human sexual drive, ability and potency on a standardized scale, called the Virility Index, the study itself took a group of 2,000 Dutch couples and measured the subject's reaction to several stimuli using a number of sensors, including heat-sensing video cameras, a blood-enzyme monitor, multiple skin and scalp sensors, and something called a "self-calibrating turgidity anchor". The second part of the study measured the couples during actual lovemaking, and then the results of both experiments were collected and cross-referenced with the subject's personal data to provide the results for both individuals, and couples.

People who took part in outdoor leisure activities had far higher scores on the index than those who did not, and those who listed "boating/sailing" among their top three activities scored, on average, nearly double that of any other group. The same thing with occupation: Those whose job was listed as "maritime" scored much higher than those who worked on land.

"We think that it may have something to do with the inner ear, or it may be due to the strengthening of core muscles as the body compensates for the rocking motion found at sea" said Dr. Krachtig. "Although one of my colleagues has suggested that maybe sailors are just better used to making love in uncomfortable environments." A follow-up questionnaire did not find any significant difference between the displacement or type of craft sailed, and the individual's or couple's virility index score, indicating that it is not the size of the boat which makes the difference, but rather the motion of the ocean.

I knew it!!!!!!!
Being on/near the water, I hear, ones blood preasure drops 20 points, could have something to do with energy gained.

SAILING is MY relief...two weeks on the hard is too long, Im headin to the bay.

Have a good week.
It's pretty damn simple for me to figure out. Sailboats are slow, which leads to two seperate conclusions. First you have more time, in more exotic places, to do more things. And of course, all sailors are smart enough to do the enjoyable first.
Second, since we are slow, we have to learn to deal with what we got, and make the best of it.
Like that last statement!!!! :-) But still better on a 50' with 4' rollers!!!!!
Giggle, giggle.. ah that's why :-) ;-)
I think that there are a slew of small differences that add up to the fact that sailors are better lovers. Sailors have patience, no need to turn the key and get to the destination immediately. Enjoy the trip as much as the anticipated arrival. Its okay to take your time getting there. Hell, I’ll even try unusual sail configurations to make the trip more pleasant. The trip doesn't have to be a straight line, almost there and tack away.....again and again.

Sailors often wear less clothing than their land based counterparts. The sight and smell of a little glistening flesh often turns my thoughts to alternative entertainment.

Sailors don’t waste much time in front of the television. Even though it’s referred to as the boob tube I think it encourages anything but. If people on land threw their televisions out the front door they would find a lot more time for intimacy.

Most of us find ourselves alone with a lover on one of the most beautiful stages in nature. Intimacy in the open, yet alone from horizon to horizon. The movement of the water itself lends itself to the rhythms of intimacy.

The smell of the sea reminds us of the smell of a light sweat, a lovers sweat. Something primal draws us to the sea as we are drawn to the touch of a lover.

A sailors life for me…….
i will vouch for the statement but i will not kiss and tellll..........lol LOL lol
Z, yer as speachless as I am! LOL,
i yam a sailorette--i KNOW sailors make better lovers lol
I think this says it all....

veranda that is soooo cute!!!!!
And when both are sailors...look out!!!!!
