I just purchased a ACR 2831 GlobalFix V4 GPS EPIRB - Category 2 and would like to know everyone's thoughts on where to mount it inside the cabin.

Thanks,

Chris

Cat 2, I would put in a "stocked" ditch bag.

Thanks!

Upon further consideration I concur.

All the best,

Chris

I installed mine on the side panel of the Chart Table.  Fit perfect.  The housing protects it from accidental discharge.  The unit is hydrostatic activated, so I would require the bilge to fill + about 20 cm of depth in the cabin.

Have to agree with Chris, though.... first sign of serious trouble, it goes directly into my ditch bag.
