About Me:
My boyfriend and I bought our Catalina 22 in July of 2008. Trailered her home and discovered that we had a broken axle and was lucky to have made the 2 hr drive back to the house. After trying to identify the trailer make etc and searching for a replacement axle for several months we finally found one in WA. shipped it and fixed the trailer in my driveway 3 months later. On Oct 31 we took her out to the lake for the first time. As we had never rigged it before we parked in the parking lot and began the process. Several hours later and getting close to sunset we finally had her all rigged and ready to launch. But by then we decided were not going to launch and try to sail her in the dark. So we left her sitting in the parking lot and returned the next morning to finally take her out sailing! The launch went great. Motored out into the open lake and raised the main sail, no problems there, except...there was NO wind what-so-ever... so for approx 3 hrs we drifted, he napped, I cleaned and we just enjoyed the day.....we decided we would let her sit in the parking lot again in hopes that we would have some wind the following day and actually get to sail. (We bought a trailerable boat so we would not have to rent a slip an could take her with us where ever we may want to go) Anyway, on Sunday we returned and was lucky enough to have enough wind to sail but not too much to intimidate us! Again the launch went great, rigging the sails etc..had a wonderful day sailing and as we motored back toward the dock and pondered the lowering of the mast we said to each other, want to get a slip? So she now sits happily docked at Lynn Creek Marina on Joe Pool Lake. It was a great decision as we can quickly be on the water sailing or drifting with very little effort. Now we are shopping for a 25' sailboat!

"Hi All, french built 2010 43 has been very dry down below but now a slow leak has occurred which is showing at the limber holes under the floor board in forward cabin. Bilge pump goes every 3hrs for 20secs. Not sure if it’s fresh/rain water or…"
