Profile Information

Profile Type:
Sailor
Homeport:
Everett, Wa.
About Me:
I am Captain Adam Hauck ( www.captadamhauck.com ), holding a USCG Master 50ton license with Auxiliary Sail, Tow and Radar Unlimited endorsements. If you are looking for someone to deliver / transport your boat or yacht, or looking for siling instruction on your own vessel, write me an email and send it to captadamhauck@gmail.com. I moved to Texas from the Seattle area in '06, looking for beaches and sun. I found beaches and sun! I also found out I missed sailing, so I did what I needed and now I get to sail a bunch and make money doing it! Good deal to me. So I moved back home to the Seattle area and now I am going back to school for yacht design and plan on sailing lots and playing volleyball lots inbetween my studies. So for now its volleyball and studies, and then head off to wherever the wind takes me. Check out this link, it is a video a student of mine made of our 5 day ASA fast track (ASA 101, 103, and 104): http://www.tetra-sail.com/seaflight.htm
Current location:
Seattle, Wa.
Destinations visited:
Destinations sailed: San Juan Islands, Canadian Gulf Islands, South Texas Gulf Coast, San Francisco Bay, SE Alaska. Destinations travelled: Europe (western and eastern), Asia (Thailand, Taiwon, Hong Kong, China, Mongolia), North America (US, Canada, Mexico).
Looking to:
Sail. Sail the Caribbean, Mediterranean, and anywhere else life takes me

Advice/Experience/Suggestions for Bareboat Charter in the San Juan Islands We are looking into a sailing vacation in the San Juan Islands this summer, and I would really appreciate any knowledge, information, pros & cons, you might have of the charter companies, sailing in the area, good anchorages, weather and temps in June vs. summer prime season, etc. .... anything ;) Thanks.

Seattle eh? What inspired you to move down here? I had been living in Eugen for ages, lots to appreciate about the NW but I am very glad for the sunny winter days here. So if you can ever use any crew please let me know. I so miss sailing. If I had more ocean experience I might be tempted to sell of everything and just live on a boat. Impossible to cast glass at sea which is the other thing that has kept me on land but missing sailing is taking its toll;)

Aloha!

Welcome ,it is good to see this group growing but even better to see someone from this area. I moved here from the NW a few years ago and haven't had any opportunities to sail yet. I am a couple of hours a way but sailing is one of the very few things I would drive for. If you know of any opportunities, I am reasonably skilled, and have a very flexible schedule.

We could swap stories of Eastern Europe, went there shortly after the wall came down. It was incredible.

fair winds
