Just joined this site. Sail in SF Bay on my Catalina 30. We were out Saturday welcoming the Maltese Falcon. Now that's a yacht! She reached across the entire central bay in 2 minutes. Made it look like a pond. Anyone else out there?
Dear Group:
I had another fine cruise for 3 days traveling 61 gps track miles and anchoring over-night at a fine weed free location. The weather was cooler so only had to sail with the pop-top and Bimini up only in the afternoons. Our OSIR group had 5 boats out Wednesday afternoon for a fine Pursuit Race. We are up to 35 days out cruising this year covering 735 gps track miles.
Come and enjoy beautiful Clear Lake 75 miles north of San Francisco where the weather is warm.
Best Regards,
Wilson and Christine

Hi all. I'm looking to connect with other sailors in the bay area (preferably someone with a boat). I've taken classes up to bare boating and would love to spend some time using what I learned to just enjoy the wind and water.
Please contact me if you need another crew member.

Dear Group:
Just back catching up after 3 days cruise on Clear Lake. Monday, Aug 25, it was double reef from morning to evening. Traveled 31 gps track miles and great heavy winds measured at 20+ knts and big waves! Moored in sheltered Dorn Bay Monday night really lovely. Wednesday sailed with Old Salts in Retirement, a local group that have Wednesday afternoon Pursuit Races.
The closest I come to sailing the delta is upper San Pablo Bay. I berth my boat in Vallejo.

Does anyone sail in the delta? I have a 46' motorsailer I am readying for Mexico. I haven't sailed her yet, to inexperienced, but I will have plenty of time to learn soon.
We sail our 1983 Macgregor 25 "Chantel Marie" on Clear Lake. The Lake has 100 mi of shoreline compared to Lake Tahoe's 80 mile and is the largest natural lake in California. It is situated about 75 mi north of San Francisco. Typically there are off shore light winds in the morning and strong marine sea breezes in the afternoon.
Most ramps are free at Clear Lake with good parking. We are trailer sailors that keep our boat in the back yard. Most of our outings are multiple day cruises anchoring at various sheltered locations. Since March of 2003 I've single handed over 4,300 gps track miles on the Lake. Each outing we zero the Magellan Color Meridian and keep a track of where we sailed. After getting home we download the track onto a map of Clear Lake and add whatever pictures we have taken. My wife Christine day sails on some outings but is always available on the Marine VHF to chat or assist at home. The County of Lake has a good web site at http://www.co.lake.ca.us/
Send along any questions that you might have about Clear Lake and we always enjoy sailing with groups.
Best Regards,
Wilson and Christine

"Hi All,
