SeaKnots

Here is a pic of my new to me 1985 Seaward 22.

Purchased last August, I spent most of the fall and spring scraping and sanding the bottom. Added a barrier coat and new bottom paint and made it in the water in late May. Still learning my way around the boat and what she can do.

Had an issue during the bottom job with the centerboard so I choose to do away with it. I pushed up the board and patched and glassed over the slot. She still seems to point better than my Com-Pac 19, I can only assume that is because of the longer keel and not so much the depth.

Only have a handful of hours sailing her so there is still much to learn.

"Auto ascending setup is an interesting idea, though it takes a bit of fiddling around to get it right. Once it's dialed in, it actually works quite well."

"Michael, From experience over three keel boats a fully battened main is almost a requirement. Not only will it make dropping the sail into the boom bag far easier it certainly reduces any flogging and vastly lengthens the life of the sail. While…"
