Just wanted you to know TIDES MARINE refunded me on that shaft.  They altered   for Paul D.  and 5 have been refunded.  I had put on a standard Dripping one we had cut down.,  F30.

This is my Garry Hoyt designed 28CK "Raven". I am almost 2 years into my restoration. It has the original wrap around sails and wishbones. I am new to sailing . I taught myself the last 2 years on a Dyer 7-11 sailing dinghy. Raven should be back on Narragansett Bay in May 2012 after 5 years on the hard. I can't wait to sail her.

Hi,

Question on my packing in Stuffing box

My SB is as tight as can. still leaks too much.

Mechanic says the key does not come out. He wants to slide the engine out to do so.

He will do in the slip.

Why does the key not come out.. Is there a secret? to get the key out? Seems strange that the engine has to be pulled to change the packing.

Those of you in the know, please advise.

Need help and advice.

Thank you, Lola F30

Maybe its time to change the sail lugs on the main, as Bob Weeks suggests,,,before I take the boat out for a few days...I have one broken, which was told no problem when I don't go too far.
