My teak companionway doors are starting to show some fading.  I'd like to maintain the finish, so I wrote to  Beneteau to obtain the finish they use. Was told it is a proprietary product; not available to purchase.    Has anyone found a product that maintains the finish? i am not interested in a urethane -like product such as Cetol. I like the soft mat finish.

I'm interested too, as mine needs work again

I use three coats of SEMCO Teak Sealer Natural and the wood looks great.

I have not tried too many options, mainly because we've been happy with teak guard that we've been using for a few years.  upsides: pretty, matt finish, not slippery at all when wet, and pretty durable.  downsides: must do a full cleaning and reapplication every 2 years and have to do spot work every year. pretty much kills a whole day. scrub with cleaner and brush.  then paint on 2-3 coats.  but such is the labor of love. we get constant compliments.  http://www.allguardproducts.com/

see pics of before (after returning from over a year on the go including bahamas) and after.

also, i was at defender for the first time last week and saw and felt this finish by Owatrol that we might try on the doors as a tester. see picture below.
