SeaKnots

Hello,

I am sorry if my question is non sense but it is strange to me to receive emails from this group and not seeing any refernce to the subject when I login in the site. I paste here an email that explains my confusion!

Kind Regards, Luis

Dear SeaKnots Webmaster

I received the email below from John Hanrahan through SeaKnots and, after
making login on SeaKnots I could not find his message. I must admit that I
have some difficulty in browsing the excellent Beneteau 40 & 43 group. So in
order to try to send my message to John I am replying to the email I
received to a href="mailto:do-not-reply@seaknots.ning.com">do-not-reply@seaknots.ning.com> with CC to
a href="mailto:mail@seaknots.ning.com">mail@seaknots.ning.com>

Hello, John

I can measure the rail diameter on my Oceanis 40 later today. However,
having removed my (original) engine support during this winter for
inspection and cleaning, I am not surprised about your confusion on the
diameter of the rail/support. In fact, there was a sort of white rubber
sheet (or hardened glue) between the rail and the support. The sheet
thickness was at leat 0.5 mm and I had to reuse it when I mounted the
support back again. Without the sheet, the effect was like having a 1 inch
support on a 7/8 rail.

Regards, Luis

Subject: stern rail pulpit: Beneteau 40 & 43

A message from John Hanrahan to all members of Beneteau 40 & 43 on SeaKnots!

I just bought a Edson motor mount for my 43 which I keep in the Bahamas.
When I installed it was clearly not the right size, too big for the rail.  I
checked and saw that Edson make two sizes, a 1" and a 1.25".  I assumed I
had the 1.25" and brought it back north with me to exchange for the 1".
When I returned I found that I on fact had the 1" which can only mean that
the stern rail is 7/8".  Can anyone confirm this for me.  I'm surprised but
I guess it's possible.

Many thanks,

John

Could I add the confusion, as mentioned in Luis's message, and advise I continue to receive emails

which do not then appear in the main SeaKnots listings.

Maybe it is a result of the Northern Hemisphere winter and the lack of activity though my most recent message is dated 19/3/2015.
